Ingegneria Informatica Automatica e Gestionale Antonio Ruberti dell’Univer
27/03/2019). AbstractPrecision medicine is an emerging framework devoted
to diseases treatment and prevention taking into accountindividual variabi
lity. Network science is considered one of the most promising approaches f
or thedevelopment of precision medicine: in fact\, network medicine is a r
apidly evolving field of medical researchaimed at identifying\, preventing
and treating diseases. This talk will show the methodological challengesr
elated to the study of biological complex systems and consequently to the
development of precisionmedicine. Some studies will be illustrated\, showi
ng the potentiality of network medicine approach appliedto the field of ne
uro-rehabilitation\, to the prediction of new disease genes and to the cha
racterization ofgene co-expression networks. BiosketchManuela Petti receiv
ed her M.Sc. Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Sapienza Universityof R
ome in 2011 and her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Bolog
na Alma MaterStudiorum in 2016. She was a visiting student with the Univer
sity of Indiana at Bloomington (USA) in 2015.She was a PostDoc at the Depa
rtment of Computer\, Control and Management Engineering of SapienzaUnivers
ity of Rome from 2016 to 2018. Since 2011 she is a junior scientist at IRC
CS Fondazione SantaLucia\, Rome (Neuroelectrical Imaging and BCI Lab). Her
research interests are in the area of biologicalcomplex system study. In
particular\, she works at the estimation of brain connectivity\,biological
networks analysis (e.g. brain networks\, human interactome) and network m
 edicine.
